Cecilia De Becker

Cécilia graduated as a hairdresser in 2015 but knew even then that she wanted to do something completely different in her life. She chose the medical field and it soon became clear that she had lost her heart to babies. In addition to being a midwife in the hospital, she will start working part-time as an independent midwife in practice in 2024.

After obtaining her degree in midwifery at UCLL in Leuven, Cécilia started in 2021 as a midwife at Sint-Michel (Europe Hospitals) in Etterbeek. Here she is on standby in the delivery room, but she also takes care of the maternity department and the follow-up of future mothers.

It was in the delivery room that she first met Joke, where she followed up one of her patients during labor and delivery.

Although she loves her work in the hospital immensely, she regrets that, after a few days in the hospital, she cannot continue to follow up and support the brand-new parents as needed. When Cécilia saw the vacancy at InTeam, she did not hesitate for a moment to apply. This completes the picture!

Of course, Cécilia continues to pursue her passion. She recently obtained her NLS certificate and will soon start her lactation consultant training.

Other work experience

Cécilia has always been a "busy little bee. There are many people who may remember her from when she worked after school hours in Hoeilaart at a local hairdressing and catering business.

While studying nursing, she worked in the Neurology Department at the Heilig-Hart Hospital in Leuven (2016) and at the Ter Meeren residential care center (2017) in Neerijse.

When she graduated as a midwife (2021) and started applying for jobs, she didn't stick around either. Thus, she was able to gain a few more months of experience as a child supervisor at De Bengels in Duisburg.

Cécilia grew up in the 'Druivenstreek' and lives here with her partner Bart, plus-son Quinn (2015) and recently she is also proud mom of a baby daughter Olivia (2023).

As a brand new mother herself, she called on InTeam's postnatal care. Through her own experience, she realized once again how important good follow-up is in the first weeks after giving birth.
